Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) and the children's hospital for the Hudson Valley and Fairfield County hosted a heartwarming dedication ceremony for Maria's Garden, an outdoor area of respite for patients and families under the hospital's care.

The serene and beautifully-landscaped Maria's Garden is just steps away from the hospital's front doors. Within its 20,000 square feet are meandering walkways; shaded seating areas; colorful flowers and shrubs; soothing lights and family-friendly interest points such as a life-size chess/checkerboard, a giant teddy bear and a six-foot tall dog crafted by world-renowned sculpture artist Yoshitomo Nara.

Maria's Garden is the vision of Brenda and John Fareri, the hospital's founding benefactors, and was made possible through the generosity of 100.7 WHUD and the Morrell family. Both the hospital and the Garden are named in honor of the late Maria Fareri, Brenda and John's youngest daughter.

Visitors to Maria's Garden and other interested parties can learn more about Maria's Garden and its unique features through an online audio tour at https://spts.us/wmc/garden.
