VALHALLA, N.Y. (February 5, 2018) – The 13th Annual 100.7 WHUD Radiothon For The Kids was a "lucky" effort for Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network, and the children under its care with more than $348,000 donated through corporate and community efforts.

Thanks to the outpouring of support throughout the Hudson Valley and generous contributions from community partners ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc., Saw Mill Auto Sales and iPic Theater in Dobbs Ferry, donations from this year's fundraiser will support the life-changing and lifesaving care offered by Maria Fareri Children's Hospital to children from the region and beyond. Four programs—massage therapy for pediatric oncology patients; bike helmet safety awareness; murals for the newly expanded pediatric emergency department; and food vouchers for patient families in financial need—are among the many hospital efforts that will be supported by Radiothon donations.

"We are grateful for the incredible support shown to the hospital through the 100.7 WHUD Radiothon," said Michael Gewitz, M.D., William Russell McCurdy Physician-in-Chief at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth). "The generosity of our sponsors, WHUD listeners and the community as a whole is a wonderful demonstration of confidence by the community in the outstanding pediatric care provided to local children and their families at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital."

"Maria Fareri Children's Hospital has touched the lives of countless families throughout the Hudson Valley region, including many of our customers and store associates, and it's a great feeling to be able to help make a difference to an organization that contributes so much to our community," said Tom Urtz, vice president of operations, ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc. "We are grateful to our ShopRite team and valued customers, whose efforts allow us to lend continued support to this wonderful community partner."

Other Radiothon sponsors include Tompkins Mahopac Bank, All Aboard Childcare Education Centers, Legoland Discovery Center Westchester, and Toy R Us in Yorktown Heights, as well as several other local small businesses.

Former Maria Fareri Children's Hospital patients, Boy Scout troops, high school sports teams and area families also contributed by bringing their collected "loot" to the hospital for counting as part of the hospital's Western-themed, Change Bandits donation program, which raised over $10,000 for the Radiothon effort.

A wrap-up video featuring patients, families and comments from 100.7 WHUD personalities Mike Bennett and Kacey Morabito Grean is also available below:
